Adrion often finds himself controlled by his emotions. It is easy for him to take to much to heart, which can be good but also very bad. For the most part, Adrion tries to keep an optimistic outlook. He is generally upbeat and good humored, making light of practically everything. Despite usually being at a “high” so to speak, when he hits “low”, he hits hard. During these times he becomes detached, dangerously susceptible to demons and needs emotional support. These “lows” are triggered by a great multitude of things including when his faith is challenged or he finds he can’t meet one of his set ideals.
He really can’t take care of himself, at least emotionally. His general personality type and years of becoming used to people caring for him has made him dependent if not clingy. He needs someone who can watch over at least his mental health. There are few left in his life to love to he
Adrion his always on high alert. Some would call him “paranoid” but he prefers “cautious”. He doesn't easily trust others, but once he does, he is faithful to a fault. He is forever faithful to the Circle and the Chantry who rescued him from the streets and gave him purpose. He is also forever faithful to Lorenzo, his Templar guard and best friend.
He loves the Circle Tower and feels as if it is his one true home, but his curiosity draws him into the world outside of the Circle Tower. His heart longs for something more than cold stone walls.
He is a people person. Speaking with others comes naturally and Adrion finds it very easy. He loves it in fact. Not all people love talking with him, though. He is very passionate in what he loves and believes in. He is unafraid to speak brazenly for those beliefs which can deter some people who just don’t understand why the Chantry or Circle is so great. That, and he sometimes doesn't know when to shut up.
Adrion grew up on the streets an orphan, begging for scraps of food and spare coppers. His father left before he was even born and his mother died of an incurable illness when Adrion was four. From then, he lived with other orphaned children in his alienage orphanage. At the age of seven he discovered he had magical abilities and went straight to the Templars knowing they would help him.
They took him to the Ferelden Circle of Magi where he lived comfortably for a time. In the Tower, he didn’t have to worry about where he was going to get his next meal anymore. He was kept fed, given a warm bed to sleep in and received an education. Adrion quickly became a dedicated and happy student. For the most part at least. Living in the Circle Tower was not without its challenges. There were few elves in the Tower leaving him a minority, faced with a great deal of racism. This left him with slight trust issues and was the beginning of his a strong longing to leave the Tower. The only person in the Tower who did not treat him as somehow lesser was a Templar named Lorenzo (Lore) De Soria who became his fast friend.
During the Fifth Blight, Adrion was kept in the Circle Tower and experienced the horrors of Uldred's Revolt first hand. After the Templars barred themselves off, they left blood mages as well as innocent mages trapped inside of the Tower. Adrion was one of the innocent who had no choice but to hide as best he could, fight if needed and wait things out. From various hiding spots he watched, mortified as his fellow mages slit their wrists and turned into abominations before Aedan Cousland, Hero of Ferelden, freed the Tower. This experience caused a deep hatred for maleficarum and demons within Adrion. He was invigorated to lean to fight them.
After the Blight, Adrion was summoned away from the Circle of Magi with a mage peer and three Templar guards, including Lorenzo. They were to track down a blood mage who had been involved in Uldred's Revolt at the Circle Tower. Adrion had been chosen to go with the party for his general skills as a mage. He also had quite a bit of knowledge regarding maleficar behavior due to his involvement in Uldred's Revolt as well as his own studies. Almost a suspicious amount of knowledge. He hoped to come to a peaceful resolution with the maleficar. Adrion planned on convincing her to come back with him to the Circle Tower to be made tranquil but, if that did not work, he would not hesitate to kill her.
Adrion and his small party found not one lone blood mage but three. The maleficarum put up a terrible fight, killing his mage peer and two of the Templars. Adrion and Lorenzo stood together, faced up against the three blood mages that had luckily been run ragged by the others. The maleficarum had been killed and on one of their persons, Adrion and Lorenzo found a note that listed the locations of many other blood mages and apostates. They returned to the Circle with this note and much praise. This list of mage locations was the beginning of a small maleficarum purge.
This helpful note granted Adrion and Lorenzo some special privileges. Adrion was a bit freer to leave the tower and often, when he did ask, he was granted permission very quickly. Adrion always made sure Lorenzo was tasked with being his guard.
